Three cheers for dual
suspension for the masses! Technology trickles down to the
recreational rider with the Discovery series. Frame tubing
differences require an overall design change from the Diamond
series, but the all-important rear pivot point remains the
same. So you can enjoy the same fully active, (works at 100%
capacity no matter if you're sitting, standing, climbing,
descending) 3.3-inch rear suspension performance of our
high-end line.
The Discovery 3 features 7005 aluminum alloy in both the front
and rear sections of the frame. The rear is suspended by an
economical, highly effective coil spring shock while the
SunTour Magnesium MG-75 fork provides 80mm of front suspension
travel. There are plenty of gears thanks to Shimano's 8-speed
EZ Fire shifters and Alivio rear derailleur. Another handy
feature is a replaceable rear derailleur hanger, which is
actually standard on all aluminum Fuji mountain bikes, but
particularly nice for beginners most likely to snag or bang
the rear derailleur.
If discomfort is something that prevents you from riding as
much as you'd like to, test ride a Discovery 3. You'll swear
it's a Barcalounger-not a mountain bike. Just don't let us
catch you sitting on it in the TV den.
