Brand New Kestrel K4000 PRO SL Carbon Triathlon Bikes + SRAM Red 20 Speed group
Kestrel says:
Put simply, the 4000 Pro is scary fast. It continues to pile up victories, triathlons and time trials alike. If speed is what you’re after, the Kestrel 4000 will deliver. Kestrel says, “The 4000 records better drag numbers than the Airfoil at all yaw angles, without a rider.”
Senior Triathlon Editor Aaron Hersh says:
"...Cervelo P3, Felt B12 and Scott Plasma 20. All three of these bikes have been proven to be aerodynamically efficient, although certainly not identical, and are spec’d with excellent components, similar to the 4000 Pro SL-SRAM Red. The Kestrel rides smoother than the P3 and B12 and is a worthy competitor for these other outstanding (triathlon / time trial) bikes..."

Highest Quality Carbon
Since 1987, Kestrel has been meticulously hand-building their carbon frames using the tightest quality control standards in the industry. Their goal - perfecting the science of speed. Kestrel was the first to launch an all carbon bike and thus wrote the book on bicycle performance: weight, stiffness, efficiency, and even the shape of the bicycle itself. With 20 years of carbon fiber experience under their belts, Kestrel is a name you can feel confident in.
Superb Ride
Kestrel's geometry has been painstakingly refined to maximize ride comfort and handling grip. Every Kestrel frame comes with a matching, frame-specific fork that's engineered and ride tuned for perfectly balanced handling with a sensitive road feel and superb ride comfort.
The K4000 PRO SL uses Kestrel's unmatched carbon fiber know-how for a superior riding experience. Superb stiffness, superior strength, durability and Kestrel's legendary aerodynamic geometry lend to a road-smoothing ride with precise handling and efficient power transfer. Size-specific tuning optimizes the ride for every size, so you get the same precise handling with a responsive feel regardless of how big you are or where you ride.
The K4000 comes out of the gate with world-class results. One of the lightest and most aero Triathlon Bikes Kestrel offers. The K4000 features a unique carbon lay-up which offers both light overall weight and pedal power responsiveness. Its sculptured seat stays are designed to reduce road vibrations and offer unparalleled comfort to the rider. The K4000 is guaranteed to provide enjoyment for years to come and winning results for those who choose to race it.
Highest Technology
K4000 PRO SL is formed from a weight-shaving Carbon fiber hybrid into a Modular monocoque aerodynamic frame design.
Ever wonder what it’s like to ride the same bike the pros do? The new K4000 Pro SL is that bike. Hours of wind tunnel testing refined the smooth lines of the already wind cheating frameset. Kestrel bicycles is proud to present the new K4000 Pro SL.
The Kestrel K4000 is designed with one thing in mind: aerodynamics. Its innovative and unique design offers two major advantages over the competition. Firstly, by creating a radical, nearly “open” triangle, wind drag created by the rider’s movements was drastically reduced. So what’s that mean? It means the K4000 is at its best when being ridden and not just good in a wind tunnel. Secondly, the open triangle offers one of the most comfortable and compliant triathlon bikes. A dream to ride on.
With all the advantages of the open triangle Kestrel was still not satisfied. They wanted to improve on the design. They channeled the headtube to improve aerodynamics, in addition to increasing the crown to stiffen the front end. Then they redesigned the downtube and bottom bracket junction and improved the stiffness. This also improved the ride quality even more! The rear triangle uses 800K unidirectional carbon fiber which keeps the road vibrations to a minimum and improves aerodynamics as well. The final result? A lighter, faster bike that is also 20% stiffer than its predecessor.
Features/Benefits:
Dual position Kestrel carbon, aero seatpost - forward position for a more aggressive seat angle and vice versa
Channeled headtube - improves aerodynamics, reduces, weight
Kestrel's proprietary blend of high modulus carbon fibers, these frames provide the lightest, best riding, while maximizing stiffness and handling response
FD (Fluid Design) - continuous flow of long filament fibers (the fluid lines of the modular monocoque design) provide a smooth and fluid ride that provides maximum stiffness.
Internal cable routing, bottom bracket rear brake - improves aerodynamics
